Termination process is a nightmare

We were sent a link in September 2024 to the Admin app for re-enrolment to indicate as to whether your child was returning or not. I indicated that my son was not returning to Spark in the academic year 2025. Furthermore to this, there was no link to click on where it redirects you to terminate the contract. I received no communication from the school whatsoever, I’ve been calling from October 2024 to check if my son's termination was processed. I’ve been taken from pilar to post. I was initially told that termination takes a while and that I should wait till December 2024 for a termination letter. Only now I’m told that my son’s admission status is still active and that I need to terminate it now which means I have to pay 3 months of school fees even though my child was not there. Two things that really frustrates me about this whole process: 1. There was no clear communication on termination. 2. I was misinformed by call centre agents meaning they themselves don’t understand the termination process.

To say I am disappointed with the whole experience is an understatement. The whole experience just showed me that Spark only cares about money. There are so many gaps in their processes and it saddens me as this is an institution that houses children.

Dear Spark, I do acknowledge that I have received a call from one of your agents yesterday and was told that my issue will be resolved and the only amounts due to Spark would be what is outstanding and that I will not be billed for the 3 months being (Jan to March of 2025) since i terminated on time. I received a transfer card today and I’m still billed R 9000,00 for 3 months school fees and R1000 for stationary. I called in to accounts and they basically told me there’s nothing they can do and the enrolment agents cannot assist either. Truly what a frustrating and painful process.
