SPARK MIDRAND IS THE WORST SCHOOL!

NO RESPONSIBILITY-Spark Midrand is the worst branch ever. They do not respond to emails. My daughter is in grade R. She has labeled uniforms. They do not supervise them when they remove their uniforms or jerseys to teach them to put their stuff in their back (RESPONSIBILITY) what responsibility do they teach? Spark Midrand , kids swop uniforms & lose their stuff everyday! Even if you go to school to lost & found you will not find anything.

POOR COMMUNICATION - My daughter has not received her homework pack since last week. I even sent an email to ask the teachers & non of them have responded to date. My daughter has also faced incidents at school for bullying. Emailed the teachers & even called the school only to be told both 2 of her teachers were not on the premises (who is teaching them?) They do not even communicate well about civvies days or anything at all. Every civvies day parents have to return home to collect the kids clothes for them to change (wasting more than an hr+ of the normal school day) & parents time inconveniencing us!

UNSAFE - The teachers are very ******** & do not pay attention to the kids. When there is an incident at the school, the teachers usually do not know what would have happened. The story they tell you is different from the results of the incident. The explanation/story you get from the child actually is a better explanation matching the evidence. They contact you to lie about how the incident occurred without even investigating the matter. Where were they when it occurred? How come they always give me contradicting stories every time my daughter gets hurt at the school? It’s either she is stung by bees; has ploughed into the carpet with her face & gotten her nose brazed; been punched; been pushed, returned home with cut uniform etc. Clearly our children are with minimal supervision. To top the icing on the cake, they always have break-ins!

TEACHERS ALWAYS LEAVE- this is the current situation I’m facing at the school. No head/principal(he left); 2 of the Grade R teachers also left. Having to start all over again trying to get my daughter settled in is an inconvenience ! So much disorder in the school! I initially app**** for my daughter to go to Spark Carlswald as we reside in that area- they placed her in Midrand branch. I did not want her to go to the Midrand branch as previous parents had bad reviews about it. I have been waiting a whole entire year for a transfer. They keep saying next year. I am a wits-end!

TERRIBLE UNIFORM SUPPLIER - Rufaro Garments has poor quality uniforms. I purchased my daughters uniforms in bulk for the full year. Her slacks started bubbling up in winter when she was wearing them. (Just discovered that her slacks were part of the bad batch the school announced about.) on the email the school mentioned that the uniform shop would now be opened daily (during weekdays). Went to Midrand shop -that was not the case. Everytime I’d go to the shop, either it was closed because it’s only open on Wednesday’s or it was closed due to break-ins/ some lousy excuse. Finally managed to find them open on a Wednesday & they refused to change the uniforms. They said the time for exchanges has lapsed. They did not even offer me a discounted exchange to try resolve the issue. I spent almost a full hour going back & forth with the owner & the shop assistant. Making calls in between (as they could not even call back their assistant). It was a complete waste of my time & airtime as when I called to raise my issue with the assistant they were addressing another issue the assistant had with the swipe machine which was not working when another customer wanted to swipe! They are so rude & ***********! Have poor customer service!

Entrusting Spark Midrand with my child’s future was the worst decision ever.
