No Core Values - Childs broken Nose and no apology
Being part of the SPARK Culture for the past four years, with both children as scholars. We decided to enrol our children due to the Core Values and the Model in which they proudly speak highly about. This was what attracted us, knowing that our children will learn values that we as parents have grown up with and live with each and every day.
A school which speaks of the teacher scholar ratio as a small amount, assuming the one on one treatment between scholar and teacher (Personalised Learning). Safety of the children in their care and that the Core Values is what makes this school function and which they take pride in.
Core Values: - [ ] Service - [ ] Persistence - [ ] Achievement - [ ] Responsibility - [ ] Kindness - [ ] Unique Value
A Incident occurred on Monday 11th June between a scholar and my daughter in grade two at SPARK Ferndale. Unfortunately her nose was broken due to a scholar not seeing what he was doing and not observing his personal space and knocked my daughter with a school bag (roller). School phoned and had to take her to get x-rays. Then came back and spoke with the Assistant Principle. My frustration is that the scholar never apologised, the Assistant Principle stated she would get the children together to apologise, after Monday, nothing had happened, no calls, no apology nothing, 5 days later and absolutely nothing has been done about it, how hard is an apology or to actually partake in your own VALUES and Mission & Vision SPARK so proudly swears by???
As of today Friday 15th, I have not heard anything from the school, after phone calls, emails etc. Absolutely nothing!!!
What is going to be done? How far does a parent have to go to get a simple apology for the fact that my child’s nose is broken and the school doesn’t care?
