I am writing this review to warn other parents about the operational and behavioral management failures at SPARK Weltevreden Park. My son has been on the receiving end of ongoing verbal harassment and name-calling from a group of scholars. He followed the school’s recommended process by reporting the behavior directly to his teacher. The teacher failed to step in or address the bullying, leaving my child completely unprotected and forced to endure continuous provocation. Predictably, after tolerating the targeted behavior without any adult intervention, my son eventually reached his breaking point and reacted. Rather than investigating the root cause or addressing the children doing the provoking, SPARK immediately penalised my son by issuing reflection forms. The school’s system consistently turns a blind eye to quiet bullying, yet harshly penalises the victim the moment they stand up for themselves. The lack of supervision on campus reached an alarming safety high when a group of kids ganged up on my son on school grounds. The situation was so completely unmonitored by SPARK staff that an external transport driver had to physically step in on campus to rescue my child. Instead of taking accountability for the complete absence of playground supervision, the school’s focus was to reprimand the driver for intervening. SPARK advertises a culture of safety and restorative core values, but the reality on the ground is a rigid discipline model that penalises victims, ignores early cries for help, and hides behind protocols when staff fail in their basic duty of care. I am now forced to withdraw my child to protect his emotional well-being and physical safety.
