Worst Service by Constable Moteme

<p>Then on Saturday the 8th at about 18:25 or so we had about 4 gun shots (not sure about the number of gun shots) from outside and then someone jumped the gate into my yard, we immediately called the police through 10111 number and I spoke to a lady to report the shots and the person jumping into my yard though I had not yet identified or rather found the person in the yard, I was given reference no. ********** , while we waited for the police we searched for the person who got in the yard and we found a guy in my brother’s room who and when we questioned who he was he said he is Mduduzi Ntuli, we asked why was he there and he said is was being ****** and started to be stubborn that we must call the police and the police wont arrest him we will see, we waited for the police for more than 45 minutes and called again we kept calling the 10111 and eventually called the detective who gave us the no. for Hillbrow Police Station, it went past an hour for the police to arrive and they later called to say they are getting lost, how can the police get lost in the area they work on ? and took that long to respond and we did they them we have the person in our possession, what if the person was armed and ****ed us? This person kept on changing his stories because he later said he saw people running and he also ran, we asked where he was from he said he is from Thembisa but later changed to say he is from Newtown, we noticed that he had blood on his left wrist and when we pulled the arm there was a bullet hole on his jacket and on this arm but he refused and said it was not a bullet hole.</p> <p> </p> <p>Eventually after a long wait of about an hour or so, the police van arrived with 2 police named Constable Moteme and Mabokela, Contable Moteme apparently was at my house the Friday 23/06/2017 when a man was found in my yard with a hammer and he jumped over the wall to the next door (N0. 83 High Street Berea) , it was to our surprise that he also was getting lost but none the less, he was less interested of what was happening and the first thing he said was ‘ why kulendlu ku kuhlala busy so because I was here not long ago?’ which interprets in English (why is this house always busy because I was here not long ago?). He then asked what did he do and what has he broken, we told him about gun shots and the incident and he said but he didn’t break anything and didn’t ***** anything so he is not going to do anything about it, when we tried to narrate the full story from the first incident we saw someone jumping in the yard(fortunately he was amongst the police that were called on the day so he knows very well) to the threats that boy said to us, he said with his own words ‘ I do not want the long story of what happened when, I want to know what he did now’ witnessed He addressed this boy as “ chief” - saying chief why are you here, who beat you up and he said it’s us and he actually believed the boy without taking our side, he then said in front of this boy then I am not arresting him trespassing is not a ******** offence you can’t charge someone for trespassing ( how can you say such critical information in front of someone who has jumped into someone’s yard). When he was preparing to leave the suspect the other police (Constable Mabikela) intervened and helped to search the yard, while searching the yard they picked up this a black coat which had a bullet hole also on the right hand wris and a black binnie, now the right hand wrist had a bullet hole, his jacket had a bullet hole and the coat had a bullet hole on the wrist. That’s when constable Mabokela asked for handcuffs to put on this guy and the Moteme guy hesitated and said “we can’t put him in our van”. And that’s when we said we can’t put him in our car either, on their way out Constable Mabokela went to the guys next door who were standing / sitting by the fire outside their yard next door (No. 83) and ask, they confirmed that they say a guy in a black coat and a black binnie on his head and those were the things we found in our yard, they took my brother with to open a case in the police station but when they got there, the same Mr Motene said he doesn’t operate on hearsays and he left my brother there, he actually led the people in the Hillbrow crime unit saying ‘ this is a trespassing and we don’t arrest trespassers, and the story that the guys from next door confirmed that he had a black coat and the black binnie and jumped our yard was a hearsay and he doesn’t work on hearsay and he left him there, so my other brother had to go pick him up there and took the boy to hospital for medical attention.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is a concern to me as an unsafe South African and I want you to convince me that we are safe with police with Moteme’s conduct who protect ********* and rub their egos at our expense, doesn’t this confirm twhat that **** said that the police are his bras and cannot arrest him? How safe I am with Hillbrow police</p> <p> </p> <p>This is very frustrating because after that boy threatened my family now 2 incidents with gun shots involved are happening at my place and no one has been arrested yet, what do I do next, take the law unto my hands and deal with whoever gets in my yard and keep quiet and not call the police because if by any chance Moteme is the one to respond he will arrest me instead not the culprit or escalate the matter higher?</p> <p> </p> <p>I wrote an email about the above to Hillbrow station commander Brigadier Nevhuhulwi on Monday the 10th of July 2017 but up until today he has not responded to my email</p> <p> </p> <p>Please intervene and help</p> <p> </p>
