Service Terminations at South African Police Service

<p>This is the usual story about poor service delivery and reluctant government officials who have little to no respect to another human being.</p> <p>I resigned on 8/01/2016 due to the Commander ,Colonel Mngomezulu from Crime Intelligence, Johannesburg Central that refused to give me a transfer , the reason given to me were "equity".</p> <p>After my resignation it came to my attention that my application that had motivations from 2 Social workers were never even submitted to Head Office transfer section.</p> <p>From the beginning I completed the documents and ensured everything from my side are submitted timeously. I followed up regularly because out of personal experience and 14 years of Service in the Saps, if you dont do it yourself it never gets done. Queries are not attended to, not due to lack of personnel, but due to personnel that do not have pride in their work. </p> <p>Eventually the work do pile up because it is not done timeously.</p> <p>Since my resignation I had to travel to Johannesburg and Pretoria twice, documents got lost and I had to re-submit. The third time they send someone to come collect documents from me because I refused, it were their negligence once again.</p> <p>What about people that are old and dont have transport or the money to follow up their cases??? </p> <p>Eventually my documents reached Gepf, this was August, already 7 months down the line. Since then I were told it takes 60 days to pay out...its 4 months later and still no payment. The documents were returned to Terminations in Pretoria for the third time on 14 December 2016, the Police gave gepf the wrong salary scale. Everytime the documents are returned the process starts over and it takes another 60 days. </p> <p>I phoned Colonel Andre' Geldenhuys at Service Terminations Pretoria this morning, 15 December 2016 at 08:10 to inform him they made another mistake on the Z102.He told me that its not his fault and the previous time were my fault cause I did not submit my degree of divorce and the system is down again. He will get back to me on a later stage.</p> <p>Really, do I deserve this kind of attitude from someone that needs to assist me? After 11 months I think I have the right to feel unhappy with their service. A Senior Officer at Head Office surely needs to know what documents need to be submitted and how am I suppose to know!? </p> <p>So how long do I still have to wait for my pension? Between the gepf and the Saps they have back logs and waiting periods like its nobodys business, they dont care about a person.</p> <p>It is also only after I contacted "Hello Peter" that Lucille Smith from Gepf rep**** and since 14 November my file were at contributions, now suddenly they realise there is an error, for a whole month nothing they did not attend to this matter. Really, this is unacceptable!</p> <p>Do I get interest on my pension they keep for so long?</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
