Title: SAPS Saselemana Police Station refused to open my ***** case and insulted me

Good day,

I would like to raise a formal complaint regarding the service I received at SAPS Saselemana Police Station.

On 23 January 2026, I deposited R10,000 to a company called Pre-Owned Rent to Own, after they promised to deliver a vehicle on the same day. After receiving my money, they demanded an additional R5,000, which was not part of our agreement, and the vehicle was not delivered as promised. I believe I was misled and ****med.

When I went to SAPS Saselemana Police Station to report this matter and open a ***** case, I was informed that they cannot assist me to open a case because I signed a contract. I was advised to go back to the company and collect my money from them, as they are promising to pay me back.

In addition, I was treated in an unprofessional and humiliating manner. The officers laughed at me and called me an “idiot” for sending R10,000 to the company. I expected professional assistance, guidance, and respect when reporting a serious matter.

This response and treatment is very concerning because I need a CAS number for my bank investigation and for the matter to be formally investigated. ***** is a serious ******** offence, and I believe I deserve proper assistance from SAPS.

I am kindly requesting intervention so that:

1. A ***** case can be opened, and

2. I can receive a CAS number, or

3. I can be provided with a written refusal stating the reason why SAPS will not open the case.
