Reporting a case of theft

I am a zimbabwean guy aged 35 working on one of the mines here in limpopo Burgersfort area. Yesterday I gave a lift to a certain guy whom I work with together with two other ladies, these two ladies dropped off halfway along the way as I was on my way home and I remained with this guy in the car and he was sitting at the back seat where my bag was. And in that bag was my Samsung tablet which after he dropped off the car I couldn't find anymore. I went to the police in Burgersfort town to report the case and they asked me if I have someone I suspect and I told them but only to tell me that they can't do anything about him because I am just suspecting him. According to my feeling the SAPS did not handle my case fairly maybe because I am a foreigner so they felt like they could not arrest their local brother over a case he has with a foreigner guy . I feel ill treated by the service of SAPS. If it was the opposite case , the SAPS wouldn't bother that I'm just being suspected for theft , they could have long back arrested me because by being a foreigner I automatically become a suspect. They could have done everything to make sure that they have helped their brother . This is my story.
