pathetic law enforcement

28 May 2018 - This day is the earmark of much more to come. We have seen the Indian Community rally and unite this night after many years. Unity, brotherhood and compassion for each other. A peaceful protest to demand justice for the loss of an innocent life, for peace, for the right to be free in our own homes and streets, and for a crime-free society. Yet our very own protectors, the SAPS of Chatsworth, show utter and complete disregard for children, women and the elderly by teargassing them and shooting them with rubber bullets. Such extreme measures for demanding that which the constitution entitles us to. Such actions of the police fall nothing short of ***ardice. Yet the police stood and watched in glee as boats were been set alight across roads. Why did the teargas not come out then? Why did the rubber bullets not fly then? It is a disgrace to have such a law enforcement body. This was an attack on good men, women and children. We demand answers. We demand better police services. People who actually care for the safety and the well being of the community. We demand a better and accountable government. Current ward councillors must be removed. We want real people living the day to day struggle to stand with us and support us. We know this much- this is just the beginning of the fight.
