I am writing as a furious individual who faced a serious incident on Saturday the 24th February 2018 between 19:00-20:00. On our way coming back from Blaauberg Primi Piatti at a 3rd birthday celebration myself, 2 friends and cousin with our kids ages from 1 year to 5 years stooped at Ny 43 to continue with the party. My Cousin the driver who was driving a Red Polo Vivo stopped and we all got out of the car. Meanwhile having fun we decided to drop the kids at home to continue where we left off. as we all went in the car, a Silver Grey Polo Vivo Registration Number CA 136 933 with three guys in came towards us. We tried by all means to move the car to escape from this silver Polo Vivo as it came straight to us but my cousin managed to move quickly so that it doesn't cause any accident.

As we tried to get out of the car with our children the three guys stopped as well. Our kids were crying and you can imagine how traumatized they were. We were shouting to these guys that they shouldn't have done that because there is kids in the cars. Not even 2 mins after we said that, the passenger guy took out a black Firearm and pointed it to us. Just after that we all scattered to different directions bare in mind we are still with the kids.

A police Van went by and we stopped it. There were three police offices and apparently the one who was driving was known by one of our friends asked him to stop. The van stopped and we tried to tell them what happened as the guys driving the Silver Polo Vivo were still standing. We pleaded and ask the police officers to please search the Polo as they had a fire arm with them. Mthunzi who is the police office than decided to call the driver who was driving the Silver Polo Vivo and wanted to hear his side of the story.

And guess what he said to the Polo Vivo driver "get in the car and drive away"! I mean what is this world coming to????????? As were thought we were safe and protected this police officer had the nerve to say that!!!!!!!!!!!! Our lives were in danger, our kids also...after that the van drove off... We stood there in disbelief... We immediately went to the police station in Gugulethu NY1 to report what has just happened regarding this Mthunzi officer... We wanted to speak to the Station Commander but unfortunately he only works from Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00.

We than requested to speak to someone in charge and were referred to Captain Kewitz who was so understanding and helpful and told us to write down our statements. Myself and two of my friends did so. My cousin was not able to come along as she was still in shock. We explained to Captain Kewitz the whole story and how it happened. We also mentioned that Mthunzi the police officer is on duty that Saturday. Captain Kewitz said this is a serious matter that needs to attended urgently. I mean if we are not safe and not protected by our own polices, our lives are in danger. What if that same firearm that we requested for it to be searched/removed did something to someone else the same night of our incident??? What if that firearm is *******?????

Pity that we don't know the officers surname... This is really a serious matter and needs to be taken further...
