No statement, negligence

After reporting our ****** vehicle, the sergeant informed us that we don't need a copy of our statement for insurance purposes and that the police station will send it directly to the insurance. The insurance then informed us that we HAVE to have a copy of the affidavid to process the claim. Isn't it standard to provide the customer with a copy of their statement anyway? <br> The statement regarding retrieval of the vehicle (stating that it was not retrieved) was signed as a blank form before it was filled out. That is not only negligent but also dangerous...
