IT CERTAINLY IS THE FRIENDLY CITY

<p>It's Police Service also has to be one of the best.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was travelling alone and heading for the Bathurst area where I had heard there had been stone-throwing and general unheaval.</p> <p> </p> <p>I stopped at Walmer SAPS to enquire about my safety on the road and not knowing the answer, Adj. Lizelle van Zyl took it upon herself to call Port Alfred SAPS herself. I was put through to Capt Govender who gave me her personal mobile number and instructed to call her on the day of my journey - which I did and told all was OK.</p> <p> </p> <p>The point is: they went out of their way to ensure my safety. I can't put a price on that service - it was tops.</p>
