Fortuner ****** 11 Sep, No information on Investigation and Investigating officer 12 Sep
Good day
I wish to register a complaint in respect of the lack of service experienced with the SAPS Sandton, 10111 and Galo Manor please
Details below.
11 Sep 2019 – My Fortuner 4X4 D4D 2012 Silver Vehicle was ****** from Peltier Street in Sunninghill between 09h00 and 14h00
11 Sep 2019, 18h00 –I went to Gallo Manor closest police station to Sunninghill, where the car was ******. At first they did not want to assist as they are a satellite police station, and the constable on duty advised she could not radio the theft to the other police. I escalate to the station Manager who also advised go the larger Sandton city branch. 11 Sep 2019, 18h00 – 19h35. I proceeded to Sandton Police station and opened a case with Constable Makganyoha. He advised that they would capture the details and share a case number by 12 Sep 2019. He also advised that he had reported the vehicle as ******.
12 Sep 2019 – 12H51 - I have called Sandton Police station for the case number multiple times today as it has not been provided. I also called Constable Makganyoha and he advised that they had no case office on duty to capture the case, hence the reason why no case number has been provided. Thus far I still do not have a case number. I also tried reporting the ****** car to 10111, they absolutely refused to assist and directed me back to Sandton Police Station. 12 Sep 2019 13H00 – 113H07 – Called Crime Stop at ***1 and was directed to 10111. Sent SAPS a message on their Facebook website. Response:- Good Day. We will attend to your message as soon as possible. In case of an emergency call 10111. You can report ******** activities to Crime Stop on ***
12 Sep 2019 – 13H20. Contacted the SAPS complaints line @***- Spoke to call center staff assistant and Captain Ngobeni 13H24 who provided Case Number - 316/9/2019. He confirmed SAPS is searching for the vehicle. However I enquired about the Investigating officer assigned to the case and Captain Ngobeni advised that I should contact the Sandton Police Station.
12 Sep 2019 – 13H28 – Called the Sandton Police Station again @***, once again, no answer.
12 Sep 2019 13H36 – Registered this complaint at *** as advised by Captain Ngobeni
Who is the Investigating officer assigned to the case and what is the current status of the investigation please?
Based on my experience the reason way theft of vehicles is so easy in SA is because of the incredible delays in getting the crime properly investigated.
