DETAINED FOR OVER 48 HOURS WITHOUT BEING CHARGED

Good day

I am writing to relay the inhumane treatment at Klipriver police station.

The officers arrested two males on Saturday 4 October claiming that the were travelling in a vehicle that was suspected to be ******.

The officers later confirmed on Saturday that the vehicle was not actually reported ******, but the gentleman were still not released.

Today is the 6 October the two males are still being detained at the said police station and have not been charged.

The station commissioner told them that he is within his rights to keep them there for over 48 hours without charging them.

We need to know if any of this is legal and what recourse can be taken to get the matter sorted out.
