10111 Call Center: Unhealthy working conditions

The 10111 Call Centre offices have 12-hour rotational shifts which include 25+ Staff per shift and no working ablution (toilet) i.e. any sanitary stations which includes wash basins.

Total ladies ablutions not in working condition: 4 Actually working lady ablution systems to date: 0 Could someone please tell me why our Government cannot provide proper sanitary benefits to the employees/staff who is supposed to protect our city?

Due to non-sanitary ablution, cleanliness of staff and overall incompetence numerous staff is currently ill thus the service delivery to the public sector is suffering and diminished.

This is an absolute disgrace / disrespect / mortification! How can we treat our employees like this? As per the National Sanitation Policy 2016 please see below:

Institutional sanitation services: Basic sanitation service provision at public and private institutions including (but not limited to) schools, academic institutions, clinics, hospitals, crèches, and day-care centers, libraries, old-age homes, churches, cemeteries, sporting facilities, police stations and correctional facilities, public areas and public spaces and government buildings.

Basic sanitation facility: The infrastructure which considers natural (water; land; topography) resource protection, is safe (including for children), reliable, private, socially acceptable, s****ed and capacity available locally for operation and maintenance, protected from the weather and ventilated, keeps smells to the minimum, is easy to keep clean minimizes the risk of the spread of sanitation-related diseases by facilitating the appropriate control of disease-carrying flies and pests facilitates hand washing and enables safe and appropriate treatment and/or removal of human waste and wastewater in an environmentally sound manner.

Basic Sanitation Services: The provision of a basic sanitation facility which is environmentally sustainable, easily accessible to a household and a consumer, the sustainable operation and maintenance of the facility, including the safe removal of human waste, grey-water and wastewater from the premises where this is appropriate and necessary, and the communication and local monitoring of good sanitation, hygiene and related practices.
