Worst ever service

I write this email as a very frustrated and unhappy client of SMG mini Rocks.

My first encounter with my consultant was very welcoming and eager to assist all issues pertaining this matter started when we began the application process. I was pressurized into paying a deposit as stated on the attached emails. I was notified verbally that if I do not make a deposit for the vehicle most likely MFC would decline the finance reasons based on affordability and the model of the vehicle been old since it was a 2008 mini cooper, I also have a 3rd party to confirm my statement.

I then consulted with family and was convinced to take a newer model reason been because of his explanation. Shahen (consultant) then was able to find me a newer model which I was very excited about. We then got a 2013 mini one, so we did the application for the new vehicle I then requested the pre-approval letter from MFC of which he had said that the deal had already been approved but when I requested proof of Approval which had an additional cost for a Window break-in protection costing R2192.98 which I then enquired about because I had never requested any additional, when I spoke to my consultant he stated that the previous buyer had requested it, this puzzled me because he had informed me when he found the car that no client had seen it and would keep it for me since I had already paid the R1000 for securing the car then I informed them that I had already done a quotation externally which would cost me R1200 so we agreed that I would pay the portion of the R2192.98 and they would pay me back the R1000 difference. I asked that the money be excluded from the application because It would gain interest if included on the application whereas I could have just paid it in full cash to avoid interest he responded saying it would not be possible because the application had already been done and shadowed my explanation about interest accumulated saying it would be a measly R40 or so extra charge each month. Me been cautious about my expenses I was not happy at all about the measly R40 charge over 72 months period and since I had initially been pushed to inserting a deposit of which then I agreed with it because I wanted to bring my instalment down.

The process then continued but was a hassle because one moment I was told I can come fetch the car and the next moment either the car still needed to go to the Auto Valet or something wasn’t ready with the car. I went to fetch the car on the 20th of May 2016 with my parents and was finally happy that the hassle was over and I could get my car. The following upon recieval of the vehicle I requested No. plates and the disk because the car had a 3 month expired disk meaning I was driving on the road *******ly. He kept saying it would be done within a day at this time bare in mind that the cheque form R1000(smash&grab) was still yet to be paid to me . I then followed up with him every after 2 days as to what was happening as per the attached emails you can see that it is always I that has to initiate conversation to find an update. After a week 30th May 2016 I then saw stains on the car which could not be removed by a normal wash I had to send it back to SMG and he explained that it was something caused by the Smash and Grab spray. They were able to sort it out.

2 weeks after that I then sent another email following up on the plates and he said it was fine I could come fetch it. I had also inform that since I was the one that kept going to SMG for all these faults that could have avoided on delivery of purchase because I have bought many cars before and I have never been treated in this manner at my own cost of petrol and Time. I also then realised that the vehicle’s cigarette Lighter was missing of which when my Brother went to view the car before purchase and informed him to ensure that upon delivery he needed to have inserted the cigarette Lighter. After a week he requested that I come to fetch the plates and the disc and I as per email attached I asked him to ensure that when I come I needed to find everything in order pertaining the plates, disc as well as the cigarette lighter so I don’t have to go back and forth at my cost.

When I got there I received the disc, plates and lighter but I still had not yet received my Smash and Grab Cheque L.

In terms of the licencing of the car I was told that it took a long process because the lady who was the previous owner was having difficulties getting the log book from the bank, Bare in mind that I was informed at the beginning of this whole purchase I was informed that there was a buyer meaning that this whole process should have been already done. I once again looked over that. I said in terms of the registration I would like to keep my current car licence plates. He informed me that it would be possible but I would be charged for the disks of the old car and I agreed to that. Going back to when we fetched the licence and plates we had a telephonic conversation regarding my other car plate and he informed me that I was not going to be charged for anything we then asked him how much it would cost for him to do the licence plates for my other car he calculated and said the R820 for the balance of the cheque. After a week or so I then sent another follow up email to check on the cheque and plates of the car once again me following up on my consultant doing his job for him, he informed me that the plate were ready and would send someone to deliver the plates as well as the cheque. I was very happy not having to fetch all this at my cost. When the cheque arrived at my work place it had a total of R430. I informed the lady that it was incorrect he then called him to confirm I spoke to him and informed him that I would send him an email as to how much the balance written on the cheque should be. Before I was even able to construct the email he then sent this rude insulting email :

From: Sing Shahen (SMG Rocks) **********
Sent: 13 June 2016 03:41 PM
To: Ngwane, W. (Wenzile)
Subject: RE: Cheque & Number Plates

Hi Wenzile,

I have just gone through your file now and our account department’s calculations are correct. We actually supposed to have returned you R420. I think its best you come through to fetch the cheque from me if you need more clarity because I don’t have the time to hassle clients for the monies owed to them.

Kind regards.

Shahen Sing

After that email I then rep**** as following :

Good day

Firstly I have been der up and down with my own gas fetching things you should have done all together at the same time.

Secondly I what to see the proof of payments for The licencing since with the disc receipt that I have its shows a total of R148 that was charged.

How much was the number plates.

I don’t want a receipt from your accounts department but from the Licencing department were your did it.

And I will not be coming to fetch it. You will need to fix the error and have it sent to me.

Awaiting confirmations.

Kind Regards

He then responded saying that he will only be able to give me feedback the following day. When I got to work the ff. day I followed up with him and he told me that his computer had crashed and would only be able to send the details later on. I asked myself would the same Accounts dept. not be able to forward these requested documents rather than have a client wait because of a crashed PC since he had received it from the accounts dept. anyway.

He then forwarded it to me and there is an additional cost of which I do not understand of Licencing changes R360. With my understanding the R4500 for registration that is included in the vehicle financing should cover the licence changing and correct me if I am wrong, for example : with the previous owner’s no. Plates if I had requested to keep them would they have not be liable to pay the licence changing from previous owner to me. Till this day I am still confused about it and ever since that day he has not given me a call nor an email to follow up when to deliver my cheque. I do excuse myself point of correction to come and fetch it as he had clearly stated and I quote “ . I think its best you come through to fetch the cheque from me if you need more clarity because I don’t have the time to hassle clients for the monies owed to them”.

I write this email not even a month upon receiving my car I have never had the luxury of received world class service. I hope that I will be assisted and Shahen trust this is fine since you were bold in stating that you had failed to assist me and I should converse with management

I wasnt able to attached the required documents and email conversation should there be required please email me to do so.
