Why buy expensive Smeg goods?

Smeg gas appliances were recommended to me by a supplier when I converted much of my household to gas. I purchased a Smeg oven, which was much more expensive than local makes, but it was sold with the promise of excellent quality (IE it will not break) and excellent after sales service (IE but if it does break, there are so few that do that they will fix it or replace it quickly). This is not what we have experienced. My Smeg oven only work for 5 min at a time ”seems like the have also build in a gas saving function, only problem with this is I don’t know any recipe that only require 5 min of baking.” I spoke to Thinus at Smeg SA and he said they will send a technician out but it will be for my account they don’t cover the extended guarantee, Hirsch sold with their product even though I’ve been having this problem since I bought the oven. DON’T PAY MORE FOR A SMEG RATHER BY A CHEAP SA PRODUCT THAT YOU KNOW WILL ONLY LAST 5 YEARS.
