Terrible experience with washer dryer from SMEG. Refusing to replace or refund after 5 days of replacement unit.

Bought a washer dryer combined unit from Smeg last year September. From the start the unit seemed a little odd, like it got stuck, the door would not release, it pumped for hours longer than the cycle should have lasted. In the last 4 weeks, it progressively got worse. We contacted SMEG and they came out and immediately said it was defective and arranged a replacement. It took about a week to arrive, when it arrived it was scratched, but also, immediately was non-functional. The technician came out again that evening, said all was working fine and that we should try again. We have been trying every since (now 5 days since the replacement). We have tried on over 20 loads. It has not finished successfully once. They are refusing to resolve, said the loads are too heavy, then too light and said we needed to pay 20% of the unit value in order to get a partial refund. No assistance, no help. Just send a friendly technical person out, who runs a 12 minute test and says everything is fine. It is not fine, it does not work. Do not ever buy a SMEG washer dryer. SMEG will have you with a technician for weeks, leave you without a machine for weeks and will not refund when their product is defective.
