SMEG worst customer Service!!!
Never expected such bad service from such a reputable company. My husband spoilt me to a new Smeg dishwasher (The top of the range model but not the stainless steel one) for Christmas 2017. It arrived just before and it has a dent in it. We reported it and it could be exchanged in early Jan due to the suppliers being closed. The same machine arrived back with a new panel on. This machine is either faulty or very bad design. Firstly the door of the machine is dirty after the wash is completed which I have never seen in other machines. Secondly the dishes are mostly coming out worst than when they went in as the dishes aren't cleaned properly but then the dirt is caked on because of the dryer. Then we bought this machine for its Energy saving A+++ specs. The energy saving mode is 3.15hours long (!!!), the normal is 2 hours long and the quick is 1 hour. The energy saving function is that the door automatically opens once wash in completed in order to reduce the drying time/electricity but NO ONE at Smeg could tell me how much water and power was used for the 3hour energy saving function compared to the 2hour normal function. So this is a complete Gimmick. The third rack for the cutlery is also such a bad design. If those racks are in, you cant fit any normal sized glasses in. Who designs these things?? I have sent countless emails to Smeg. They even sent a technician out to look at it and he agreed the dishes should be clean. This is a R10 000 top of the range machine and all I want is clean dishes. I have now been told to go back to the shop I bought it from as they cant help me anymore. I have been liaising with them directly for two months, dealing with a broken/*********** machine and now they done with me without solving my issue. It feels like they are hoping I go away of they ignore me long enough which is completely unacceptable. I am done with SMEG. I want a basic machine from another make that will produce clean dishes and better service
