SMEG - Premium price for a ****py device

I purchased a SMEG kettle under the assumption that I was buying a premium item with longevity based on the price. I now have a kettle that has a large bubble on the side. Contacted SMEG via Facebook and they offered me a 30% discount without asking for any info. Seems to me like this is a regular occurrence hence the swift response with a discount rather than addressing the quality of product.
