SMEG poor quality and after sales service

I purchased a smeg gas counter top stove and an oven in 2014. In year one I already had an issue with the black cast iron pan stands, the rubber at the bottom would continuously come off, went into smeg umhlanga and was told I had purchase replacements. Purchased 10, there was only 4 available in store and was told I would be contacted when the remainder 6 arrived, 3 years later...still waiting to be contacted! In year 2 the electronic automation ignition stopped working on 2 plates, call Smeg Umhlanga, technician comes out and repairs, it’s a common fault according to technician at no fault of the user, I stated at that point that I cannot believe a premium product would have continuous issues and I’m still waiting for product that I had purchased. Recently the control knobs seem to be sticking and over the past month three of the automatic ignitions stopped working...this is of a 5 plate gas stove! Once again called Smeg umhlanga, I’m rather irritated at this point but still remain calm with the consultant as it’s not their fault. Spoke to the technician who told me that they would come through on the day (Tuesday 17th June), notified me of the call out fee of R500 as we are out of warranty (3 years) . He comes through the afternoon of Tuesday and upon arrival once again mentions his call out fee, to be honest this was all he was concerned about. I spoke to him about my oven not heating up as well (I was not at home, my spouse was so the conversation happened telephonically). He explained that the igniters on the stove had to be replaced, I asked for a quote, he said he did not know prices off his head and will get back to me the next day. Wednesday come as goes...nothing, same with Thursday and eventually I call around 5pm...he apologizes and says he will contact me on Friday, when I asked diagnosis about the oven, he explains that he assumes that it needs a new circuit board (without having tested or checked) which will cost a minimum of R3000. I said sorry no ways I’m doing that. I stated please send me a quote for the stove on Friday and let’s get it rectified asap. It’s monday now a week later and nothing. Apologies for the essay, however this is a recurring issue with smeg! The after sales service is minimal at its best. You choose to buy into a premium brand with the perceived quality that comes with a premium service! I will never use smeg again or purchase a smeg. Not a single person from smeg has reached out after various complaints!
