SMEG is very expensive

If you buy SMEG- expect costly service/ maintenance. I bought my Smeg gas oven 5 years ago- I have hardly used the oven because it never seemed to work 100%. In October 2019 I decided to fix it to bake a xmas cake. Smeg outsources their service to Bedfordview appliances. 3 months/ 7 service calls and nearly R5000- later the oven is working. I phoned Smeg to advise of my unhappiness but their manager Rudi only returned my call a week later and has basically done nothing. I didn't get to bake the Xmas cake.They defend the prices charged. If you buy a SMEG you don't expect problems like this. I could almost buy a DEFY gas oven- and will do if I have further problems.
