SMEG HOB

We have recently redone our Kitchen and purchased a Smeg Hobb last year around this time from Hirsch's since this Hobb was the centre peace of the Kitchen we decided to go all out and get the best we could afford . We even took out the extra guarantee since the sales agent advised us that whatever happens to my Hobb they will be able to fix it and if it could not be fixed then replaced. Since day one when I used it and wanted to clean my stove with the Smeg appliances cleaner it made this white rust that looked like someone threw baby powder over it, after I used the Smeg cleaner we bought with it, I tried another more expensive product that was specially made for stainless steel hobs and it just stayed the same. I phoned them to send someone out the technician came out looked at everything used the exact same Smeg Cleaner I used and the exact same thing happened to him it will look clean for a minute or 2 and the white rust look comes back he also advised that this was strange and took photos with his phone he didn’t remove the Smeg nor did any tests just photos after a while Smeg contacted us and informed us they will not be replacing the unit because the wrong product was used how they know that from a photo I still don’t understand and maybe their own cleaning product should have been included in the photo they said they could fix it and quoted us R9000. 00 to fix it and for that Price I could have bought a brand-new better Hob from another company. Every person who visits us sees this immediately and well luckily the Smeg name is nice and big on it so they wont make the same mistake we did if only we knew that the name Smeg doesn’t make it a good product we could have purchased a cheaper product that looked better and probably lasted longer. Don’t buy a Stainless product from Smeg there is no guarantee on it and no matter what you clean it with it will have this white rust effect and there is zero support from them if it happens, they immediately decide that it’s the cleaning product you used.
