"Premium" brand delivering worse than terrible customer service

<p>I am extremely disappointed in Smeg 's customer service.</p> <p>6 months ago I first contacted Smeg for a quote to repair our dishwasher. I was advised it is our of warranty (3.3 yrs vs the 3 yr warranty) and therefore their customer service centre will not be dealing with me but I need to deal with the technician directly. This would have been OK, if the technicians were trained on how to treat customers. But I experienced a 2 week delay in getting a booking with the technician, with me needing to phone and follow-up! Thereafter I needed to pay him cash on his call-out (no Smeg pro-forma invoice given) and had to wait another 2 weeks to receive the quote, sent from a gmail account, with no Smeg logos or banking details or anything indicating that I am dealing with a legit quote/company.</p> <p>By this time I was already fed up with the poor and unprofessional service in having to chase a company for service and then receiving delayed, questionable quotes.</p> <p>I was surprised Smeg would allow this, not to mention it is not what I expected from a premium brand supplier.</p> <p>There after we saved up for the part. Once we had the money I phoned again for installation. After numerous calls no installation date was made. This is when I decided to contact Smeg customer service again, who promised to phone me back once they have details re the part I needed to order, but never phoned back. After a couple of calls I finally got to an agent who assisted and put me in contact with their customer service manager.</p> <p> </p> <p>All I got in the end is a legit quote, a request to pay everything upfront before the service is even delivered (to date dishwasher is not working) and a mere "apology for the delay".</p> <p> </p> <p>This type of feedback does not change the terrible experience.</p> <p> </p> <p>Therefore writing on this forum as I hope this is a means to an end. Smeg's service has left a sour taste in my mouth re this brand.</p> <p> </p>
