Poor quality product

I bought a Smeg gas hob and electric oven because I believed that as Smeg products are SO expensive they must be good quality. I have been very disappointed. Whoever designed the Smeg oven has clearly never cooked. There is no 180 deg C marking on the temperature dial. You have to guess more or less somewhere between 170 and 210. They obviously have no confidence that they can get it right. I have had the hob and oven for less than 4 years. In that time the oven door has fallen off, the LED clock display has broken and only displays parts of numbers, the knobs have broken and now the grill has stopped working. Of course it is just out of warranty. Smeg charges a R500 call-out fee before they touch the appliance. I won't be using Smeg to fix the oven. Why would I give *********** people more money?

My previous oven and hob which I had for 15 years were Bosch . I replaced them because I wanted a bigger oven, not because it was faulty. The only thing that broke on the Bosch in 15 years was the oven light globe. I wish I had bought another Bosch.
