paint peeling and rusting SMEG oven

<p>In 2012 I purchased a brand new SMEG oven from Hirsch Springfield. The cost of the oven was R15000, which is not small change.</p> <p>I live in a suburb and not close to the beach. My SMEG oven from door is starting to rust and the vanilla paint work is peeling off which is unsightly.</p> <p>I called Hirsch and was told the extended warranty i purchased does not cover rust and peeling paint work and I should call SMEG directly. I emailed then and was contacted by Diane and was told to go back to Hirsch as SMEG only covers for 3 years.</p> <p>My issue is that SMEG prides itself with with 'high quality domestic appliance" if that is the case why I am experiencing a rusty appliance. A friend who has a"cheaper " quality gas oven, and purchased the same time I did, does not have any rust on her oven at all.</p> <p>I am upset that I am being shoved from one person to the next and no one wants to assist or take accountability.</p> <p>SMEG is a high profile brand, surely they should be priding themselves with good customer service and I am not getting that.</p> <p>This was my worst buy ever</p>
