Not too happy with the quality of some Smeg products for the price...

I've owned 3 of their sandwich makers, the exact brand, and none have had the middle plates be so loose at the back attachment by the hinge of the machine. The middle layers need to be loose to swing but I'm talking about the part that allows the middle piece to come out. The silver bolts aren't as long as my others so the middle piece wants to jump out when I open the top lid to put the egg in. I make my sandwiches upside down with the cheese on top of the egg so the cheese doesn't burn and it keeps the top layer of my ****in from getting soggy or soft. Overall the machine does what it is supposed to do but that hinge area needs help. I'm afraid it will pop out and burn my arm. I had to fight to get the layer middle out to clean them on the older versions. I used oil on one machine's hinge so it would come out.
