DO NOT BUY A SMEG!! ->
DO NOT BUY A SMEG APPLIANCE ->
My dishwasher "start cycle" button stopped working last week. I opened up the front panel to find that the tiny little micro-switch button on the PC Board had broken off (very tiny switch with small soldering points).
I contacted SMEG for a repair. Guess what... they don't replace the micro-switch buttons. I have to buy an entire new PC Board... here's the quote I received: PCB: R2,794 Timer Support: R102 Press Button: R96 Call out fee and labour: R650
Total: R3,642
Of course this repair makes no sense and I will be buying a new dishwasher (obvs not a SMEG... EVER AGAIN)... because of a piece of plastic the size of an ant. Which I could fix myself if I had one of the little switches.
