Bad service
My car was checked in at Smash Autobody for repairs by insurance company which outsurance on 5th or 6th March. I was given their details from insurance department then I stated calling them, for atleast 3 consecutive days they were saying my car is not with them sanding Pillar to post, well I decided to call the insurance and told that I'm not gonna call them anymore since they say, they don't have my car, but on the tracker it shows that is there. After 4 days of this up and down one lady from smash autobody called and said they have my car and they ordered parts which they gonna take week and my car will be in ready in 3 weeks, okey cool, she also told that they do follow ups on Wednesdays week. But to my surprise no one has ever called me, until I wrote an email to outsurance about the silence. On Friday the 10 April, they called and said my car is ready and I must leave work to come fetch it, told that I'll come on Monday, mind you I stay in witbank they are in Montana Pretoria. On Monday I couldn't go because they told me that the car will be ready after 16h00. I told I'll send my brother on Tuesday, On Tuesday when my brother got there, the car wasn't ready, he sat there whole day no one was informing about anything, I had keep calling, after 16h00 that's when they gave him car, with a dead battery, my petrol was finished, he took the car to buy food at Kolonade Mall that's when it refused to start, I had to calling them again, you know what they did they jumped the car, they said is gonna be fine, from Pretoria to Siyabuswa, it didn't charge, my car is still without a battery and petrol, they promised to buy a battery about a week ago but still nothing, there thing i could track my car from day one until the day they said fetch your car knowing the battery is dead is, even when they were removing the battery tracker would phone me and say am I okay, but things changed only a last days. They said I must come to Pretoria, my question is ? with which car? The one without petrol and battery, on who's expense? Go there and wait the whole day and get help after 16h00?

Bad service

Why I wont recommend Smash Auto Body.
If I could give zero stars I would. I cannot vouch for the quality of their workmanship, as it has been 2 months and 6 days since my car was booked in for repairs due to hail damage. I can write an excuses manual with all the excuses they've given me for why the car isn't ready yet, from waiting for authorisation to waiting for parts, to the weather. Forget about getting regular updates. I had to call for updates and got the run-around, with my car supposedly ready by tomorrow for a full week now and still not there. They always promise to call back within 5 minutes after speaking with the owner, but the call never comes, forcing me to call again and receive the same stale platitudes. All I can say is don't use Smash Auto Body if you want any kind of service.

I had one of the worst experiences at Smash Auto Body. From the start, communication was poor and unprofessional. I was given unrealistic timelines, and my vehicle was not ready when promised — with no proactive updates or explanations. The quality of the work was also disappointing. After collecting my car, I noticed visible imperfections in the paintwork and finishing. It felt rushed and below standard for the amount charged. When I raised my concerns, the staff were dismissive instead of trying to resolve the issue properly. Customer service makes a big difference, and unfortunately, this place lacks accountability and professionalism. I would not recommend Smash Auto Body to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality repairs. Good luck go the rest of you.

Dishonest and no accountability at all.
This people are deceiving and operate in bad faith. I took my car for a quote and I was told that my car can be repaired in two days, then I accepted the quote, submitted my car on a Monday with the belief that I would get it by the end of the week. Only to have my car worked on two weeks after I gave it to them, at that time I consistently had to call for an update which never came forth. I would always get a, let me go check and they would never come back to me. On constant follow up they would give me different timelines of collection, which kept on being moved upto 6 weeks from date of my drop off, of the car. On my collection of the car, i found the towing equipment of my car was taken, which I dropped the car with. I told them about this, even showed them photos of that equipment, which I took on the day of the drop off, and they said they look into it, I kept enquiring about it, and they have been saying they will replace them, but till today nothing has happened, I am still missing those equipment. I had to stay in the premises from morning till collection, just to get my car. Dealing with this people was just a pain in the ****. I wonder if there is any place where I can report or lay complaints about their service, cause it is really bad. The personnel's attitude is one that tells you that they have enough work and they don't need your business. I will never refer anyone to this company.
