Do not book through SmartFares
They should get a 0/5 rating. I have been waiting for 4 weeks for my refund, after it was said that it will take 14 days. I also just get R460 back from over R3000 ticket. Do not book through SmartFares - not trustworthy!

Eternity required for a refund.
Due to the tentions in the Middle East. My flight from Kuwait to Egypt was canceled. I have been back and forth with SmartFares in an attempt to aquire a refund. The airline announced that they would be giving full refunds for flights affected by the rising tensions. SmartFares however decided they would only refund me less than half of the amount paid for the flights. 5months down the line and I still do not have my refund and I find myself sending constant emails back and forth to aquire my refund.

Eternity required for a refund.

The airline announced that they would be giving full refunds for flights affected by the rising tensions. SmartFares however decided they would only refund me less than half of the amount paid for the flights. 5months down the line and I still do not have my refund and I find myself sending constant emails back and forth to aquire my refund.

AVOID SMART FARES AT ALL COSTS
If only I had read the reviews before I bought the ticket. Absolute ****mers. You will not pay the price that they show you when you check out. That is guaranteed. And you cannot get hold of anyone either.

*****ulent company - DO NOT USE
Really bad experience with this company as their website is absolutely not user friendly and you do not have a return option. I was unable to make contact via email as they do not respond to emails. They double booked me on the same flight and refuse to return my money. After I bombarded their life chat with messages they contacted me and offerd me only a small part as refund as they claim that I did not contact them with in 24 hours. Well, I have the emails that was send the same day and only minutes from realising the double booking. Also they charged me 30% more on the first booking to what thei site indicated. I would state this company as a *****ulent company.

SmartFares ****!
SmartFares advertised the best price on return tickets. I booked and paid BUT the deducted amount was MORE than was advertised! Then they wanted MORE money to secure the flights, I refused and was eventually promised the tickets at the paid amount. Waited for 6 hours, no tickets! Again contacted them online (phone numbers do not work). They AGAIN wanted MORE money sighting a price increase although the airline price remained the same on the carrier website. They again committed to the original paid amount although at this point I had already declined and asked for a refund 6 TIMES! After much hassle I got the tickets canceled and received a full refund (within 24 hours). Do not use SmartFares, you will not save!!! Book with the carrier airline directly!

Smartfairs, not so smart T&C’s
Smartfairs linked to Air Tickets, has given me such horrid service. I require a name change on my flight to match my marriage surname as displayed on my passport instead of my ****en surname. A easy mistake to fix. Instead they have a policy stating: when a flight is booked with two different airlines - no name change is possible. Instead you must cancel your ticket, non refundable and purchase a new one. My recommendation, is to rather book with the airlines straight or to use trusted travel agents. Travelstart had my name changed in 24 hours. No hassle. A small fee was paid instead of a new flight ticket.

Unfair treatment Smartfares
I only realised after checking the reviews of others that they do not treat clients fairly. It’s either you get a refund with penalties or they offer you an expensive flight. I’m so frustrated with them. I’m not sure what needs to be done but as a client don’t go near them please otherwise you will be disappointed.
