Skyfi takes your money
If I could give any advice on choosing a wireless service provider, it would be to avoided Skyfi at all costs. Costs is definitely the prominent word here. I joined them more than 2 years ago and have now decided to move somewhere else. Initially I paid R3500 to join and R1270 for first month of service. Contract was 2 years and thereafter would go to a month to month payment. When cancelling my contract I was requested to pay a months fee to terminate my account. Naturally I expected that this would then let me still have access to the service for another month. That is not so. They are charging me R1270 for clicking a button to stop my internet. This is rediculous and unfair. I am trying to get my money back for service not provided but getting answers from them is virtually impossible. They refuse to do telephonic conversations and all complaints have to go through email.
I was paying for a 20mb/s line and in the beginning it rand fine - for about 70% of the time I was lucky to get half of my speed.
I have requested my contract to see if there was any mention of this payment after my contract was over.
