Skifi - Again life teaches me the same lesson, cheep isn't always better.
Facts: 1. We ordered a 200 mbps up 200 mbps down fibre subscription from Skyfi; 2. First, it took them over a month to install their router as they said they didn't have any in stock; 3. Then the router they installed was only capable of 100 mbps up and 100 mbps down on Ethernet and 30 mbps up and 30 mbps down on wireless; 4. We have been trying for two months to get them to sort out this issue and to date nothing has happened; 5. No matter how many emails and phone calls one makes, the only we get is an invoice for a degraded service.
Apply some common sense when looking at the reviews... most are 1 star with a few 5 stars. There is nothing in-between, clearly the 5 star reviews have to be bias made up of directors or shareholders. To even give them one star irks me.
We are trying to cancel our subscription but a third party handles their cancellations and in the cancellation documentation they refer to clauses that bind you to the sign up T&C.
At the end of the day Skyfi will sell you a subscription that is not guaranteed. They may supply you with hardware equipment that can't support your subscription. If you require any support during your subscription, you can forget about it. They will hold you to the T&C regardless of the level of service they give you.
For many, fibre is fairly new and there will be many providers that won't make it in the long run. The winners will give good service and understand their products and technologies very well. Rather go for a well known reputable provider that is customer centric and save yourself all this pain... Again life teaches me the same lesson, cheep isn't always better.
