I want my money back

In the 2nd April 2024 I made a lay-by at Skipper bar which the transaction was amounting to R3000 and I had paid R1000 for lay-by. To my understanding the lay-by was for 6 months which was my biggest mistake I had made . So I went to the shop to take takeout the lay-by and was told that it has been cancelled due to no paying on time and that 3 months has lapsed. We’ll I did not have a problem with as they said it’s only for three 3 months , what I don’t understand is the fact that they said the funds deposited into the lay-by I had forfeited as well HOW COME, I understand them taking clothes back but why again my money , to take all of it as well and not to say there’s a certain percentage that they will take and give me the rest , but for them to take the amount of R1000 without getting anything in return that I don’t understand. When the lay-by was again this part I don’t understand, when I made the purchase I was asked of my contact number , what is the numbers for if I am not going to be contacted when the time near or have lapsed what we’re my numbers for . It is not the first time I did a lay-by wit log any shop and I’d be advised on the time frame you know being reminded as we all know times that we living are hard , we all all trying to survive. Why was I NOT CONTACTED about my lay-by reaching the due date why . and now am told I have lost even my money, am getting nothing in return, I am sure there could be a better way to resolve this but not me living with nothing after I have paid in so much . Please I want my money back PERIOD.
