I wasted a staggering R26,000.00 on a FET Certificate: Bookkeeping (SAQA ID: 58376) course at Skills Academy, and let me tell you, the value I got in return is absolutely not worth the expense or the frustration.

First, they insist you to enroll through their college, claiming that course materials are updated annually. But here’s the kicker: if you can’t finish your assignments before the next year rolls around, they slap you with a ridiculous fee of R1000.00 just for reprints of materials that are mostly redundant—except for those updated tax tables that you can easily find on the SARS website!

The assignments prove my point. Most of what I received was clearly recycled from the previous year, and I even faced a situation where a "lecturer" graded my work using an entirely incorrect memo without even realizing it! I had to point this out to them and request a re-evaluation.

As for support from these so-called "lecturers"? Spare me! It’s nothing but a disappointment. Not even a single one-on-one session. Instead, I got nothing more than references to material I had already accessed or mindless YouTube videos—totally defeating the purpose of seeking student support in the first place!

In summary, my experience was an absolute let-down. I could have saved thousands by just opting for self-study!
