Beware of using Siteground.com

As a siteground user I have experienced a lot of issues. Our website constantly has timeout errors and the servers are extremely slow to respond that we cannot barely get any work done and needless to say have extremely irrate customers! THESE REASONS HAVE COST US A LOT OF TIME, MONEY AND REPUTATION! After logging many support tickets we never get any proper assistance and the siteground support staff are extremely good at throwing the ball back in your court and don't really offer much help except ... read the documentation or hire a developer. They will not accept responsibility for poor performance. Their servers are extremely slow and unreliable. Even with their "fancy" speed optimisation services (SG Optimisation plugin, Cloudflare and NGINX Direct delivery etc.) the performance is terrible! I will give them this, the backend interface is really neat and easy to use, Migrating wordpress sites are really easy and they do have alot of other useful tools. But this does not help if your websites are always slow and/or unresponsive.

This is VERY IMPORTANT for anyone thinking about going with Siteground --- Now when we are trying to move our websites to another host, Siteground do not offer support at all. They will not offer any help in providing you with a copy of your database etc. They will flood you with links to tutorials on SSH etc. etc. but when you follow these and run into issues, they will not assist you in any way so in other words you are ******ed! They obviously do not want you to leave but will do nothing to assist you. They are like the mafia, once you are in you cannot get out! Just remember that they also charge you upfront for a year etc. So they have made their money out of you and couldn't care less if your site is working or not. Plus if you leave in a few months, guess what? Another fool will take your place as their marketing side seems good and they have somehow fooled a lot of people to post good reviews for them or even promote them, so they really do not care. Maybe others have been fortunate enough to have had a great experience with Siteground and that's great, but this is my honest opinion after being a user for just over 6 months. Use it or don't use it but you have been warned!
