1. There were no access keys, a security guard had to open for us each time we went out. 2. Since it was not communicated prior that we won't receive access door keys and a security guy will open, it was a bit creepy and weird that he entered the room to check the room with us and when he stated he's the one that will open for us there's no keys for us to keep. 3. The reception service is terrible, we tried to call them before arriving but there was no response, and also tried to call the number that is at the entrance, but there was still no response. 4. It would be a gesture to at least have a kettle in a room. One great experience, the kitchen lady is genuinely kind.

Just stayed at Silver Oaks boutique hotel in Durban. It is apparently a 4 star graded hotel but this establishment calls into question the integrity of the grading council. Firstly it is graded as a guesthouse but operates as a hotel? No remotes to exit or enter. No room keys as the system has been broken for months. No reception as it is defunct. Things don't work. Extremely dated. Being held together as a subsistence business where money does not flow back into the business. Vagrants right outside gate everyday.
