False Advertising at Sheet Street

Good morning

My husband and I we're at C**** Walk last night when we saw a sign in Sheet Street's window display indicating a reduced price (R129) on the merchandise stacked below. (I have attached a photo of the sign with the soft purple blankets I refer to on this complaint ).

As the price seemed very reasonable, I decided to buy two of the above mentioned blankets. However, upon paying for the items, I noticed the amount rung up was R799. When I questioned this amount, I was informed that the blankets actually cost R399 and that the sign in the window display was a reference to other blankets in the store.

I was very upset as I believe this to be a blatant attempt to trick the customer with regards to the price of certain products. I refused to pay that price and left the store empty handed. This is false advertising and I find it extremely dishonest, unprofessional and disgusting. Sheet street will not see me again!

If this matter is not resolved soon I will lodge a complaint with the consumer complaints department.

Good day

Audrey
