Cancelation of sale without informing customers

Received an sms stating there was 5 day sale from the 15th to the 19th of September. Went to the store at the mall of Africa and they advised us that the sale was canceled. The staff including the assistant manager were of no help. They just told us it was canceled and there was nothing they could do and that other customers were also complaining. No correspondence was sent from sheet street regarding the cancelation of the sale. And it is really unprofessional for staff not being able to offer an explanation and just shrugging their shoulders and management just walking away. This is extremely poor advertising and customer service.
