Kodak Inverters from Blue Mountain Energy or Segen solar

I am a professional renewable energy installer with over 10 years experience. the first inverters we installed were so heavy you needed a pallet jack. An existing Kodak inverter customer contacted me to expand his solar system from 5kw to 10kw. I unfortunately had to add another Kodak inverter for them to be compatible and to parallel them. I bought an Kodak OGX 5.48 inverter and installed it. there were a firmware difference as the 2 were from different manufacturing dates. It gave me endless problems with the communication between them. After several phone calls and emails to acquire new firmware to update them to the same version, nothing happened, Blue Mountain energy just did not care to help in any way. After about 2 months I gave up on them and got the new firmware from a company in Australia. That solved all problems. The new inverter started leaking oil out at the bottom and after a few days the batteries started to short out. The inverter is still under warranty. I send it in and after 2 months with them and several threats they came back with a report that it was a surge and I have to pay to get it fixed. That was a defective component from the factory and there were no surges or load shedding at the time that happed. The kodak inverters are an Axpert MKS inverter that they have rebranded. And if you get a surge through them they give you an error 9 "soft start bus failure", which this one did not do. The inverter worked perfectly without any errors except that it shorted out the batteries due to a component premature failure. Do not buy any Kodak inverter product in South Africa, that are being distributed by Blue Mountain Energy and Segen solar. There is NO aftersales Service nor Honouring of any warranty what so ever. I usually install Growatt and never had any issues with warranties.
