Seeff over 1 month late with our deposit

We moved out of the property on the 28th of February and have still not received our deposit. Inspection of the property on the 26/02/2016. According to the Rental Housing Act, the deposit must be paid by the landlord to the tenant after 7 days if no repairs are to be deducted from the deposit,within 14 days if there are repairs to be done to the unit and after 21 days IF THE TENANT REFUSES to meet for inspection of the property, and then all repairs and maintenance must be complete before these 21 days, with receipts for all relevant payments. It has now been 45 days after we moved out and there was an inspection done by Seeff on the 26/02/2016. This indicates that the return of the deposit is now very late.<br> <br> After chasing the deposit we were told that the landlord was not happy with the state of the house. We asked for a report, Seeff then came back and tried to blame us for repairs needed that we had previously raised with them when we moved in including lack of maintenance to security, lights not working, oven and many other things. <br> <br> They are now trying to make us pay R6000.00for the painting of the house which was one of the things we mentioned was not done when we moved in.
