SEEFF Property failed me with a bad credit tentant who tampered with my electricity

I approached Seeff Properties on June 2019 to help me rent out my house which I have never occupied since I received the keys in June 2017. The agency had promised to do thorough credit check on the tenant. I asked to see the information before I could agree to the tenant moving in but I was advised that I had no right to do that. The managed to get my contact me. That's when I realized that the tenant was blacklisted and failed to keep up with the payment on the second month of moving in. We are now on the third month and she is still owing the October rent. I have since asked the agency to terminate the contract.

The tenant tempered with the electricity and the municipality has picked it up and added the amount of R22 723.94. I would like feedback from the agency in recovering this payment. I refuse to be held liable for someone who lacks integrity.

I feel that the agency should be careful about accepting tenants with bad credit. Now I'm left with a R22 K bill.

If I had been given an opportunity to assess the credit report of the tenant (of which I was denied access to) I would have been able to make a better decision as to whether I accept this tenant or not. I now hold the agency liable for this amount.
