I will never buy a property through Seef ever again

I would like to express my deep disappointment with the experience I’ve had following the purchase of a property through Seeff.

Despite the transfer being finalised, the property was handed over in a completely unacceptable condition. There was no electricity, and no clarity provided as to why or which systems within the home were functional. The pool was overgrown with algae, filled with frogs and tadpoles, and the garden was severely neglected. None of the essential documentation — including the certificate of compliance (CoC), or any form of operational guidance — was provided to me.

Even access to the property was problematic; the gate had to be opened manually by me climbing over, as none of the agents were making any effort to do gain access, which resulted in me injuring my hand.

While I understand that the agent who facilitated this sale recently suffered a stroke — and I sincerely wish them a full recovery — it is deeply concerning that no one from Seeff stepped in to ensure a proper handover process or to assist with resolving these serious issues. For a company of Seeff’s reputation, this lack of oversight and accountability is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

I am now in possession of a registered property that is not in a livable or compliant state, with no guidance from Seeff on how these matters will be rectified. I expected far greater diligence and customer care from such a well-established real estate brand.
