Sealy Mattress exchange - S179140

On 8 Feb 2018 I reported to Rochester that the Sealy mattress bed I bought from them a couple of years ago had problems and had to be replaced. On 12 February I was informed that an agent will contact me.

I was contacted by a lady by the name of Rachel working for the Bravo Group who sells the Sealy range of mattresses. I had to pay in R4312 to get it replaced, nearly the same amount I paid for it a couple of years ago. On 26 February 2018 I was informed that it had been authorised and I had to contact the store where I purchased the mattress.

It is now more than a month and a half and no correspondence from emails sent the Rachal. Rochester can not for one or other bizarre reason speak to their warehouse and can only communicate with emails.

Now I have been informed that they don't have any in stock and it will only be delivered to the Roschester branch next week Thursday and then only the week after that it will be delivered to me. Where in the world have you seen you pay for something and then you can't get it delivered to you. It is not my problem if they don't have stock, especially after waiting since 26 February when I had to pay. They knew on 26 Feb that they dont have a mattress and need to manufacture it. Now aparently it still is not manufactured. How bad can companies in South Africa become? Best of all, I have been charged a "recovery" fee since there were stains on the mattress. Rochester informed me that they will not take the old one back as I need to dispose of it. Why charge a recovery fee then in the first place??? So, bottomline, their warrenties and guarenties is not worth the paper it is written on.
