Below Par Mattress being sold

I wish I could give a zero star on this review: ***

We purchased a sealy mattress from Bedcenter in August 2021. The Value of the mattress was R14k.

I first complained to bed center in April 2024 stating there is something wrong with mattress.. they never followed up and nor did I.

This last month the bed has gotten worse, which a spring pieced the bed covers and went into my pregnant wife back..

We called right away and then carried on following up until they came to have a look.

The bed still looks in perfect condition but one small stain as it is now 3 years old. We have since been told in order to replace the bed we have to pay R3800 for warranty fees and additional R2500. This is day light *******.. how do you charge to replace a bed which your own assessors have advised its faulty.. we spend money on Sealy as we expect to get a good quality mattress that will last 10 years and more, and not have to be replaced at our expense every 3 years.

I would advise anyone reading this to stay away from sealy brand and rather trust another brand.

The service we have recieved is shocking and unless we follow up there is no communication.

Good Day Andreas, as per the notes on the S338894 the LANNISTER EX FIRM FL/FE MAT has stains therefore a recovery fee of R2250 is charged if the stain can be removed, we will only quote the warrantee fee of R3119.00 as the mattress is out of guarantee period. Once the R3119 is paid with clear pictures of the removed stain we will authorize the exchange for a new mattress.
Calculation charges for repair or replacement in service warranty period: Divide your dealer’s current retail price by the total limited warranty, multip**** by number of years since purchase date on your original proof of
purchase invoice, e.g. R4999.00 ÷ 10 = R499.90 x 4 years since date of purchase = R1999.60 + VAT. An inspection fee and a transportation fee will be charged for invalid claims within the Total Service Warranty Period.
A recovery fee will be charged for unsanitary product within Total Service Warranty Period. If the Sealy product purchased is no longer available, Sealy will substitute with a comparable model at the current retail price.
Thank Verdi

Reviewer Update
The pictures have been sent already on Tuesday 8th of October. unfortunately your response shows the utter disrespect towards your customers as mentioned a spring has come through the bed.. This is a factory defect and should not be charged out to your customer... Unfortunately I would prefer not to stick to Sealy mattress and get my refund.-I will pay the warrantee fee in order to buy another brand bed, please advise what is that process.
