SASSA Chatsworth Branch

My husband had an extremely bad experience at the SASSA branch in Chatsworth Durban today. He went in to have his disability grant reviewed as he was given a 6 month initial grant and had been asked to come back after the 6 month period for renewal. My husband is blind in his right eye and the Local Office Manager by the name of Mr Harripersad had blatantly told me husband that he is lying about being disabled and he will not receive any disability benefits. Who gave him the right to diagnose my husband's disability and whether he was allegible for a renewal in his disability benefits? Mr Harripersad was also very rude and cold towards the elderly that were also there for their pension benefits saying that they were not allegible as they could walk and not disabled as well. It is very disappointing when a person takes on a role as a doctor when he is only an local office manager. My husband was quite upset when he got home as he has been blind now for over a year n is relying on this benefit. I hope my review gets exposure to the way the elderly and disabled people are being treated at the SASSA Chatsworth branch
