Yesterday I sent my mom to sassa to cancelled the child grant support money because I got a job now started in January. She was told that I should be the one who does it and also told to bring along ID pay slip and letter of appointment. I went there around 3 and they said I should also submit a 3 months bank statement. I told them I have a new bank account my previous account is closed but the man just insisted. So I asked to speak to the supervisor by the name of Siphiwe who also said the same thing and even mentioned that even if he were to accept the documents that I brought, he won't load them on system because I came late. By the way the knock off time is 4pm and by then it was around 15:30. I then demanded to speak to the manager. Her name is Mildred selubane, not sure of the surname, she said the same and even told me to also bring an affidavit. My argument was that there i was doing a noble and honest thing by terminating the grant because I no longer need it and also bearing in mind that there's a child out there who needs it but no the manager insisted that she is following procedures. I even mentioned that I will pay for the January amount and I won't withdraw the current one. I also mentioned that I'm new in my workplace therefore I can't take time off for something that can be done immediately without sending me from pillar to post. I left there not helped and I told her that I will destroy the card because I don't want unnecessary debt and her response was that I should keep the card because they will reverse the transaction. I mean how foolish is that. All in all the government officials s well as their employees are so hooked up in *******ion and ***** to n extent that they don't appreciate honest citizens. Whoever that came up with such ridiculous and foolish process is *********** and has no integrity at all. Should my name be listed,all hell will break lose because all I wanted to do was to be honest and do the right and Noble thing. Please get to the bottom of this because I am done with SASSA I WILL NO GO THERE ANYMORE,THEY FAILED TO DO THEIR JOB
