SANRAL Highway staff are phenomenal

<p>It's taken me a while to get around to writing this, but I hope I can still point out that the SANRAL highway staff - the guys who help sort out accidents and broken-down vehicles - are phenomenal!</p> <p>I few months back I hit something while driving on the N1 near the Malibongwe offramp. Whatever this big piece of metal was, it burst both tyres on the left hand side of my car, leaving me in serious trouble, as I obviously only had one spare.</p> <p> </p> <p>Within about 15 minutes of the accident taking place, the SANRAL staff were on the scene and cordoned off the lane closest to where I was stuck (my vehicle was in the emergency lane closest to the far right hand lane on the highway). They removed the cause of the accident from the road and loaded my vehicle on the back of a truck, before taking me to a garage on Malibongwe, across from several tyre dealerships, so I could arrange to have my two damaged tyres repaired.</p> <p> </p> <p>So just a massive shout out to the guys who do a really tough job - not only did you save me enormous amonts of trouble (for one thing, changing two tyres with my back to the fast lane would've been a time-consuming and harrowing experience), you saved other accidents from occuring by removing the offending junk that was lying in the road, AND you took me to a place where I could quickly and easily facilitate repairs - all without complaint and always with a smile on your face.</p> <p> </p> <p>While much has been said about SANRAL and its ridiculous e-toll scheme, I won't hear a bad word about the service its highway staff provides - you guys are the best!!</p>
