Sanral bad planning

Is Sanral going mad?! On 24-08-2015 2 of the 3 lanes of the R24 West between the airport and the Barbara Road off ramp were closed by the Sanral contractor for road works during the morning peak (not the first time!). This was not serious road works but merely filling cracks with sand although it looked like the workers were rather building sand castles. The traffic congestion was such that it took 45 minutes to cover the distance from the airport to Barbara Road! How on earth can Sanral and its contractor justify this kind of deliberate traffic congestion when this kind of road works can be done over a weekend or at least leave two lanes open for traffic if work has to be done during the week? It is clear that there is a lack of planning by Sanral and that there is something seriously wrong with their tender conditions. It is also clear that Sanral does not keep an eye on the way the work is carried out by the contractor. Whilst Sanral wants to make us believe that they want freeway users to have an enjoyable trip the only thing they achieve is to anger road users. How does Sanral hope to get the support of road users with this kind of bad planning? And yes, I do have an e-tag.
