Where do I begin ? After purchasing a property at a major N3 interchange and getting assurance from our local municipality that we could develop our site we set about a long and expensive process in getting an authorisation from the relevant government department. After 10 years and much blood and tears we finally obtained our authorization. SANRAL then informed us that they were they “authority” that we needed to get authorization from and for three years withheld their consent for our development. They then decided they wanted our entire property frontage and threatened to expropriate if we did not yield to their demands. They then wanted to provide us with an access which completely jeopardised our hard obtained development authorisation and in doing so construct a road through my only water source ad stream course on the property. I had to oppose this ludicrous plan by legal means at great cost to myself. In addition to this they then requested that I give them early occupation of the land as they were running behind schedule and promised that if I let them go ahead they would expedite the matter and I would get paid sooner. Well they then moved on and constructed the most **** poor access road which was completely different to what we had agreed. In addition to this they refused to submit a letter of consent to obtain the subdivision which has resulted in me still waiting for my money for the property. They, in the meantime, purchased a property just beyond me which, if by removing me from the road access, they could them develop int what I had already app**** for - a commercial development with a shopping centre, hotel and associated retail opportunities. The lies, deceit and *****ulent activities undertaken by this SOE and its conspiring contractors is beyond belief,. Their mandate is to built infrastructure but the are actually just an arm of this despotic government whose are milking the system from every angle. The people behind these manoeuvres should be invest gated and brought to book. Never mind them ringing in the business mafia as contractors, paying them millions a month to “secure” the project - but stuff those whose properties have been rendered useless by the underhanded shenanigans. They cannot look you in the eye as the are ********s of the first order.
