DO NOT REGISTER FOR E-TAG WITH SANRAL!!
I took out and registered as an e-toll payer in before April 2014, believing this was 'the right thing to do'!
My car was sold 3 weeks ago and since I am employed and working 7 days a week with no transport, I asked my elderly father to visit the Sanral offices in Johannesburg with the e-tag, my ID and proof of vehicle sold.
Sanral refused to cancel the e-tag linked to the car which is no longer in my possession and claimed that I owe them money. This cannot be the case since the e-tag had a credit balance when I drove the car and I did not claim on the discount which was offered to newer registered e-tag owners who registered AFTER I did in 2014.

My father was very upset and almost passed out on his way leaving the Sanral offices. Fortunately a security officer from the Mall finally assisted him since the staff of Sanral obviously maintain the same values and respect for the community as does Sanral.

I urge all citizens not to register. I have learnt that 'doing the right' thing will only allow Sanral to penalise you without a right.
